Welcome Letter

Celebrating a Century of Building Character

Welcome to Union School Haiti

Founded in 1919, Union School Haiti is a U.S.-accredited, PreK–12 international school located in the suburbs of Port-au-Prince. For more than a century, we have built our reputation on rigorous academic excellence, dedicated staff, a caring community, and the success of our students.

With over ten nationalities represented, our diverse community embraces inclusion, collaboration, and global citizenship. Through innovative teaching and continuous curriculum development, we are committed to a journey of continuous improvement—cultivating curiosity, reflection, and independence in every learner.

At the heart of our curriculum is a strong emphasis on Haitian history and culture, vertically aligned across all grade levels. From early elementary through high school, students engage in age-appropriate explorations of Haiti’s heritage, resilience, and contributions to the world. This integration not only deepens academic learning but also fosters pride, identity, and a global perspective rooted in local culture.

Our programs develop the whole child into tomorrow’s leaders, offering a balance of academics, athletics, arts, and service. Students thrive not only in the classroom but also through rich opportunities that encourage character, leadership, and resilience. Supported by strong partnerships with parents, a proactive Board of Trustees, an energetic PTA, and an active Student Council, Union School continues to grow as a vibrant, ever-evolving community.

Our theme this year, “Strength in Unity: Transforming Challenges into Triumphs,” reflects our belief that, together, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome.

We invite you to explore our campus, discover the opportunities we offer, and experience the Union School difference. At Union School Haiti, we are family, we are Building Character, and we are continuously striving for excellence.
