Board of Trustees
The Union School Board of Trustees is composed of seven voting members. Six members are elected from among the Assembly in accordance with the procedures set forth in Union School’s bylaws, and one member, the Embassy Representative, is appointed by the Chief of Mission of the United States Embassy in Haiti.
The Board is responsible for adopting and implementing policies that uphold the school’s constitution and bylaws. In the event of a conflict, the constitution prevails over bylaws, and bylaws prevail over board policies. This ensures that all governance decisions remain firmly grounded in Union School’s founding framework.
To guide its leadership and strengthen accountability, the Board has established the following SMART Goals:
Support student achievement and wellness
Ensure fiscal integrity and accountability
Maximize technology for staff efficiency and student learning
Ensure leadership continuity
Adopt a comprehensive Board Policies and By-Laws Manual
Together, these goals provide a clear roadmap for governance and ensure that Union School continues to thrive academically, operationally, and strategically.
