The goal of the program is to provide services needed for each student to reach his\/her potential.<\/p>\n<h4>\n\t\tHow does Union School&#8217;s Learning Center provide support?\n\t<\/h4>\n\t<ul>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tWe work with each student to develop his\/her social, emotional, and academic skills.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tLearn by doing: teachers integrate multiple intelligences to accommodate different learning styles.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tWe teach each student at his\/her level.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t<ul>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tWe foster higher-level thinking.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tWe allocate time to individualize the instruction for each student to reinforce particular skills in reading, writing, or math according to the student&#8217;s needs through study skills and resource periods.\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unionschool.edu.ht\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/74972074-IMG_4882-1-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"74972074-IMG_4882\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"1646\" width=\"2560\" title=\"74972074-IMG_4882\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t<h4><em><strong>How is a student placed in the Learning Center?<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Based on a psycho-educational evaluation, the student is placed in the least restrictive environment possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Full-time\/Part-time:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>With Modification:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe student is engaged in learning the same content areas and objectives a mainstream in a parallel setting in the Learning Center where instructions are individualized or in small groups.<\/li>\n<li><strong>With Adaptation:<\/strong><br \/>\nStudents receive academic instruction modified to their level of performance to meet their needs based on the Psycho-Educational Evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<strong>Part-Time General Program with Accommodations:<\/strong><br \/>\nStudents attend the mainstream program receiving support and accommodation specified in their Individualized Education Plan&nbsp;(IEP).\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Helping Students Through a Special Education Program LEARNING CENTER PROGRAM The Learning Center (LC) is a special education program catering to students from grade 3 to grade 12.
