Our dynamic curriculum is evaluated and revised following a 5-year review cycle. Through a collective effort, the educators at Union School have designed an American-based International Curriculum using the following:<\/p>\n\t<ul>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tCommon Core Standards (Incorporating College &#038; Career Readiness Standards and Mathematical Practices)\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tVirginia State Standards\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tNext Generation Science Standards (NGSS)\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tNew York State Standards\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tAmerican Educators Reaches Out (AERO) Standards\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tInternational Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)&nbsp;Standards \n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t<ul>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tLong Beach California Unified School District Technology&nbsp;Standards\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tP21&#8217;s Framework for 21st Century Learning\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tAdvanced Placement (AP) Standards from the College&nbsp;Board\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tHaitian Studies Target Proficiencies developed by the Union School Staff\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\tSecond Step Social-Emotional Learning Program\n\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t<p>Instructors at Union School facilitate instruction that fosters the development of critical and creative thinking, collaboration, civic-mindedness, and personal integrity in our students. Each student&#8217;s needs and abilities are considered as teachers use evidence-based, differentiated approaches through subject-specific and interdisciplinary activities.
