She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction in Early Childhood and a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the University of Puerto Rico. As a dynamic leader with a proven track record at Cognia, she served as Senior Vice President of International Education Services, leading teams to design and implement accreditation and certification training for institutions and evaluators. Her career includes experiences as a teacher, administrator, academic dean, and Lead Evaluator for Cognia. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with additional certifications as a childcare professional, Montessori teacher and administrator, HighScope teacher, and positive discipline parent educator. With over 30 years of experience in academia, Dr. Ojeda-Oneill has authored three children&#8217;s books, two college textbooks, and 35 articles and book chapters. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, with a love for languages and culture. Conferences and workshops around the world are among the highlights of her career. Currently, she continues as a Lead Evaluator for Cognia, an early childhood and curriculum trainer, and as a part-time consultant to various government, industry, and academic partnerships.<\/p>\n\t<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unionschool.edu.ht\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/4-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"277\" height=\"277\" \/>Ioana Rosu<\/h4>\n<p><em>Team Member<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ioana Rosu is a dedicated education professional with over 20 years of experience in Cognia- and IB-accredited international schools in Latin America, having served as an IB Science teacher, IB CAS Coordinator, and Global Citizenship Coordinator, among other roles. Ioana holds a Master&#8217;s Degree in Secondary Education, a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Education, and a Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology. Ioana currently resides in Rio de Janeiro, and she serves on the Cognia International Accreditation Services team as an Accreditation Specialist for the Americas, supporting the accreditation and continuous improvement efforts of educational institutions across the continent. Ioana is passionate about ensuring that schools meet high standards of quality and excellence. Throughout her career, Ioana has focused on creating positive, inclusive learning environments where students can thrive, develop critical thinking skills, and become responsible global citizens. Her work with Cognia reflects her commitment to enhancing educational practices and fostering an environment that enables schools to grow and adapt to their students&#8217; needs.<\/p>\n\t<h4><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unionschool.edu.ht\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/5-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"278\" height=\"278\" \/>Andrew Sherman<\/h4>\n<p><em>Lead Evaluator, American School Certification<\/em><\/p>\n<p>With over two decades of educational field experience in Latin America, Andrew Sherman is Cognia&#8217;s VP for Latin America. With a rich background in teaching and leadership in the region, including experience from elementary to university levels, Andrew has made valuable contributions to advancing school improvement and accreditation initiatives across the continent. Andrew&#8217;s personal academic journey includes a graduate degree in international education from Harvard University, as well as advanced graduate studies in Latin American history, organizational leadership, and educational administration. Andrew&#8217;s leadership in Latin American school communities is noteworthy, having held positions as head of school at Westhill Institute in Mexico City, Colegio Menor San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador, and at the American School of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. &#8220;This new role provides an opportunity to enhance school improvement initiatives in the more than 350 schools accredited by Cognia, as well as engage in significant growth of our services by assisting an increasing number of schools in Latin America. I am excited by the prospect of the potential impact this work can have on educational quality throughout the region.&#8221;<\/p>\n\t<strong>We thank our students, teachers, parents, and staff for their dedication.
